(Almost) Midnight Snacking

I woke up with colds today. And I was really down all day. As in literally down.
I could barely stand up because, for some strange reason, my head feels heavy.
My nose and throat are all clogged up. My eyes feel so strained.
My surroundings seem to spin when I close them.
And because of all the phlegm inside me I feel so..viral.
Is this how colds feel like? I haven't had it for quite a while (I've always been proud of my immune system) and now it's a totally new sucky feeling for me.

I ended up not going to school.
I missed Philippine Government & Constitution and Information Resource Management classes. UGH.

I'm better now. I've taken my meds. One for the hangover-like headache and another for the colds.
I whipped up quite an interesting evening snack that I munched while watching Hell's Kitchen reruns.

What you're predominantly seeing are the cookies* but underneath those are chopped Fuji apples, bananas and cheddar cheese.  I paired it up with Coke (my personal fuel) and it was sooo good. I hate veggies to death but fruits are my friends. The only setback was that the apples were a bit too acidic; it would've been perfect if they were a bit sweeter. And I wished I crushed the cookies.

Adios!

*The cookies are Fibisco's The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies which I absolutely love because they're cheap, easily available and super delish. I never run out of it in my personal pantry.

Clues and Cards

My college friends and I had lunch at TriNoma yesterday and there was this huge Toy Sale (Toys R Us) at the activity area. At the sight of numerous colorful contraptions, we, kids at heart, decided to check it out.

Toy Sale Thoughts:
  1. How do people define sports these days? I mean stacking cups really fast is great but to call it SPORTS STACKING? Really?!
  2. Modern day toys are crazy. As in some are crazy awesome and some are crazy mediocre .
  3. I wonder if kids of this generation still play Patintero, Habulan, Agawang Base etc. I see kids at playgrounds and skate parks but I don't hear anyone yelling "Taya!" or "Viva!" anymore. :(
Anyway, I ended up buying 3 toy planes for my nephew whom I just love to spoil with pasalubong.  Neko* bought Cluedo (more on that later).

We also stopped by Powerbooks and I (finally) bought Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Yey!! Will do a review on that once I finish reading it.

We headed to Agent P's* house where we will be sleeping over. After we partly did our theses, we decided to play Cluedo.

It took us about 30 minutes just to understand the game. We had instructions from the internet, from the manual that came with the board game and from  those who have played the game before. That's about 5 different versions of Cluedo. Anyway, Cluedo, once comprehended, is a very cool game. It is, as stated by Wikipedia, "a popular murder/mystery-themed deduction board game". 2 of us were analytic freaks, 2 were higly competitive, 1 was a mystery novel addict and 1 was bored (oh..3 were working on their theses and decided to pass). IT WAS PERFECT. I had a blast. I highly recommend Cluedo as a sleepover staple.

Speaking of sleepover staples, another one is playing cards. We played In Between (a betting game wherein I was one of the first people to lose their money), the classic and idiotically exciting 1-2-3 pass and of course, a personal favorite, Egyptian Pokpok.

Here's a sappy epiphany: the simplest things in life, when shared with loved ones, make the best memories.

Ciao!

Morning!

Well well well.
I've been planning to do this blog for weeks now but I never really thought I'd do in the morning!
Not just morning it's frigging 2AM!!

So yeah. First post's total crap but I guess that's what first posts are for right?

First posts are the version ones.
They're the prototypes.
Sacrifices.
 :))

So yeah. I should really be snoozing right now. I have to be at Church by 8am..so yeah.
That's 6 hours from now. Which means I have to be up by at least 4:30 am.
+30 minutes for the "i'll-be-up-in-5mins" morning drag
+30 minutes for eating
+30 minutes for bathing
+30 minutes for prepping up (I'm a girl. Do the math.)
+30 minutes of waiting for everybody else to be ready
+45 minutes of travel time
 ------------------
7:45 am. :)

So I'm not the fastest horse on the track. I don't know. Maybe someday, I'll get used to mornings.

Adios!
